This is the official homepage for Ogh, an open-source Android live-streaming application.

Purpose of Ogh

Ogh lets a user broadcast video and audio from an Android camera or screen to YouTube, Twitch, and custom RTMP or RTMPS destinations. A user may stream to one destination or multiple destinations at the same time.

Ogh captures the source selected by the user, encodes the media on the Android device, and sends the resulting live stream directly from that device to each destination enabled by the user.

  • Broadcast an Android screen, front camera, or rear camera.
  • Include microphone audio or eligible device audio.
  • Connect a YouTube account and create a YouTube live broadcast.
  • Connect a Twitch account and stream to a Twitch channel.
  • Add custom RTMP or RTMPS destinations.
  • Send one encoded stream to multiple enabled destinations.

How Ogh works

  1. The user chooses a camera or screen as the capture source.
  2. The user connects YouTube or Twitch, or enters a custom streaming destination.
  3. The user chooses which destinations to enable.
  4. The user starts the live broadcast.
  5. Ogh sends the broadcast directly from the device to the selected destinations.

Ogh does not require an Ogh account. Ogh does not operate a hosted media relay, advertising service, or analytics service.

Why Ogh requests Google user data

Google authorization is optional and begins only when a user chooses to connect their YouTube account in Ogh.

Ogh requests the Google OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube. Ogh uses this permission only to:

  • identify the user's YouTube channel;
  • create and configure a YouTube live broadcast and ingestion stream;
  • bind the ingestion stream to the live broadcast; and
  • manage the broadcast lifecycle requested by the user.

OAuth tokens and connected-channel information are stored only on the user's device. Ogh does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or analytics, or transfer it to an Ogh-operated server.

Users who do not connect YouTube can still use Ogh with Twitch or a custom RTMP or RTMPS destination.

Privacy and user control

Ogh stores connected-account tokens and streaming credentials locally on the user's Android device. Users can stop streaming, disable a destination, disconnect an account, clear Ogh's local app data, or uninstall Ogh.
